MLK Resources at PHS
This Martin Luther King, Jr. Day PHS is sharing some of the resources we hold on the influential Civil Rights leader, who was assassinated 50 years ago this April.
Our online archives, Pearl, includes several photographs of King documenting his protest activities and speaking engagements.
Pearl also includes digitized audio of the 1963 radio documentary, “God Bless - Whom?” The program presents contrasting perspectives on the Civil Rights movement and includes the voices of Martin Luther King Jr., Eugene Carson Blake, Edler G. Hawkins, and white supremacist leaders.
One of King’s lasting legacies is his voice. Our blog post from 2013 highlights additional audio recordings we uncovered that showcase the reverend's prophetic message of hope.
To further explore our collections for materials related to Martin Luther King, Jr. and Civil Rights, we invite you to search Pearl, our Calvin catalog, and the online exhibit "Presbyterians and the Civil Rights Movement."
