PHS Welcomes New Staff
The Presbyterian Historical Society is pleased to welcome a new staff member this month.
Elaine Shilstut will be joining the PHS staff as our Cataloging and Metadata Librarian.
Elaine comes to PHS from the University of Pennyslvania Libraries, where she worked as a Library Specialist in the Cataloging Department. In this position, she performed original and complex copy cataloging including authority work for various formats. She also managed the Penn dissertations workflow, supervised cataloging students, and trained paraprofessional staff. Elaine holds an MS in Library and Information Science from Drexel University and a BA in English and Russian from New York University. She brings with her 15 years of experience cataloging materials in various formats and languages.
When asked about our new Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, Executive Director Nancy J. Taylor said, “I’m thrilled to have Elaine join our staff. She brings a wealth of experience, both in traditional book cataloging and in all the facets of description in this digital age.”
You may recognize her name--Elaine has previously worked at PHS as a cataloger from April 2010 to February 2015. We are excited to welcome her back to the Presbyterian Historical Society in 2022!
