Vintage Grub: 7 Recipes for a Sweet Summer
Summer is finally here, and with it comes food! Whether you are at a picnic, BBQ or dining at home, the Presbyterian Historical Society has a new batch of recipes for you to try culled from its large volume of cook books.
From the Berry-good Recipes cook book published by Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steele’s Tavern, Virginia, we have Cherry Cola salad. If you feel like a culinary adventure, you can also try sausage and apples from the 1923 Benevolent Society Cook Book from the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Forest, Illinois. And from the 1912 Monroe Cook Book published by the Mt. Pleasant United Presbyterian Church in Monroe, Ohio, we have conventional summer foods like egg slaw and potato salad. Enjoy your summer eating! From Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church:
