Wilmer and Anna Lehman served as missionaries in West Africa, serving from 1899 until 1938. Wilmer Lehman was born in Knox County, Illinois, on July 1, 1873. Wilmer graduated from the University of Michigan with the degree of Doctor of Medicine and then preparing himself for missionary work, he went to the Moody Bible Institute. Wilmer married Anna Thome McLauchlan on November 25, 1899 on ship board off Batanga, Cameroun, West Africa.
Anna Thome McLauchlan Lehman was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 8, 1874. After Anna graduated from University of Michigan in 1897, she taught for two years in Illinois.
The Lehmans served in several areas during the time spent in West Africa, including, MacLean to Benito, Efulan, Djapesten, and Nkol Mvolan.
The Lehmans had five children, two of whom followed them into missionary service.
Dr. Lehman died in South Pasadena, California, in 1950. Anna Lehman died in Duarte, California, on February 6, 1960.
