The G. Arista Staley Papers consist of correspondence (personal correspondence and a newsletter), 1920-1956 and no date, that covers, with some gaps, her entire service, and diaries, 1919-1928, for her first two terms on the mission field. The diaries, correspondence, and newsletters reflect the experiences and activities of her daily life on the mission field: teaching, itinerant evangelistic work, recreational activities. She describes the mission personnel, local people and customs, as well as hindrances to evangelism. The later correspondence covers her work as a nurse and administrator from 1932 until her retirement in 1959. The collection also includes mission and station reports for 1931, 1933, and 1936.
