First Presbyterian Church, Poughkeepsie, New York was organized in 1749. The Church was reorganized by the Presbytery of North River in 1826 from a church in Pleasant Valley which probably took the name after an earlier defunct Presbyterian Church. The church building was built and dedicated on Cannon St.
