On February 17, Executive Director Nancy J. Taylor was joined by PC(USA) Co-Moderator Elona Street-Stewart to discuss how the pandemic has impacted her service as co-moderator, how history informs the work of Street-Stewart and her fellow Co-Moderator Rev. Gregory J. Bentley, and what the church can do to lift up the voices and histories of American Indian members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

As the church takes action to reckon with structural racism, Presbyterians continue a season of seeking after absolute historic truths, in order to repair past harms.

On January 20, PHS Records Archivist David Staniunas led a conversation that explored how archives, as servants of power, both reveal and occlude truths in three stories: those of William Drew Robeson, Joseph Metz Rollins, and Memorial Presbyterian Church (Juneau, Alaska).

On October 6, a PHS LIVE panel lifted up the ministries of Hispanic and Latinx Presbyterians in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A).

During the event, Rev. Ruth Faith Santana-Grace, Joanna Kim, Rev. Eliana Maxim, Rev. Juan Sarmiento, and Rev. Fernando Rodríguez shared about their ministries and discussed ways the PC(USA) can preserve the history of Hispanic and Latinx Presbyterians.

On September 16, 2021, PHS Records Archivist David Staniunas was joined by Rev. J. Oscar McCloud and Rev. Dr. Gene Turner for a discussion about the UPCUSA and the Angela Davis Legal Defense Fund.

In 1970, the UPCUSA—a predecessor denomination of the PC(USA)—contributed $10,000 to the legal defense of Angela Yvonne Davis. Facing blowback and seeking tranquility, twenty Black Presbyterian ministers contributed $10,000 back to the Church. Hear from two witnesses...
