Benjamin Franklin and Anthony Armbruster
Franklin worked in partnership with Armbruster (d. 1796), the printer of a
German-language newspaper in Philadelphia starting in 1754 or 1755 and ending
in 1758. Armbruster, born in Germany, arrived in America c. 1743 following his
brother, Gotthart, a printer who originally employed Anthony. By 1753, Anthony
was running the business.
